The first stage of the design process is a concept/preliminary design. In this dynamic process, we support our customers to turn their thoughts and ideas into a realistic concept design that fits their purpose. The concept design of a ship includes an accurate estimate of weight, cost of construction, and a set of calculations that define the necessary requirements for construction.
It develops an understanding of the needs and blends the latest rules and current shipbuilding practices to produce perfect solutions in line with the needs. Specifications need to be translated into a realistic viable concept. At the end of the feasibility phase, the client can discuss more details with other interested parties and can confidently decide whether to proceed further with the development of the project.
Concept Design Scope:
Receiving product function / technical specification and product concept proposal.
Analysis of the requirements that allows us to determine the best solution to fulfill the requirements in line with the purpose of the ship.
Identification of key dimensions in compliance with local restrictions with a combination of customer requirements.
Determination of materials and equipment.
Determination of basic features and ship concept design.
Pre-technical calculations / reports.
Determination of the required propulsion system with CFD calculations.
